Trauma
Trauma is the response to experiences where your sense of safety feels threatened and you're left feeling broken, helpless, and voiceless. Trauma is almost always an underlying cause of various mental health conditions. Unhealed trauma can show up as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, personality or mood disorders, codependency, physical illness, and other symptoms. I assist you to change your life as you heal from within by processing shame, guilt and other traumatic memories.
Benefits: Clients that I work with often experience these changes (and more) in their lives as a result from therapy:
Feeling safer in your body and the world
Ability to set healthy boundaries
Deeper, healthier relationships
Healthier coping strategies
Deeper understanding of yourself and others
More balanced mood and more joyfulness
Being more present in your daily life
Improved focus and concentration
Better physical health
Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety and depression are not personality traits, but symptoms of a deeper issue that needs healing. It's your body telling you that something needs your attention. Don't let anxiety and depression dim your light. Therapy is a great way to figure out exactly what that is and how to cope with it. Through personalized strategies, you'll learn to navigate complex emotions and respond to them, instead of reacting.
Benefits: What would life look like without anxiety or depression?
Feeling more relaxed and grounded
Less pain and improved physical health
Better sleep and more energy throughout the day
Being mentally present
Less shame and guilt
More motivation and feeling more productive
Enjoying life and trying new things
PTSD
PTSD, short for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, can linger after trauma, causing flashbacks, anxiety, and emotional numbness. You may avoid reminders or feel hypervigilant, making daily life a struggle. If these symptoms affect your relationships, work, or well-being, please know you're not alone and treatment is available. With professional support, you can heal and find peace.

Addictions can be very obvious at times, but they can also be subtle in their early stages. Usually, they are a symptom that is rooted in a mixture of genetics, past painful experiences, negative beliefs, and other things that are yet to be uncovered.
Benefits: Healing and understanding the underlying causes of your addiction will help you build a healthy, loving relationship with yourself and end your unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Individual Sessions
Psychotherapy
I utilize a person-centered, eclectic, multicultural approach with a special focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I use some basic behavioral neuroscience as well. Initially, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.

Connect With the Appropriate Level of Care
With my dynamic, pro-active approach, I will assist clients to find the most helpful level of care (LOC) for them depending on each of their situations and taking schedules (as a worker, student, or part of a family) and finances into account. In order to do this, I refer back to the continuum of care within the psychotherapeutic field and assess the symptomology of each client to determine what are the best treatment options they could access.
